In episode #19, I discuss the possibility that the using a device such as Google Glass to display subliminal visual cues during endurance exercise can improve your mental and physical performance.

In two recent studies by Dr. Samuele Marcora Director of Research at the University of Kent School of Sport and Exercise Sciences, Kent, England, athletes were exposed to different types of subliminal visual cues to measure their possible effect on performance.

In the first study, individuals were shown happy or sad faces during  exercise and the effect on performance was noted.

In the second study, individuals were shown positive or negative action words during exercise and the effect on performance was noted.

I spoke with and interviewed Dr. Marcora during the 2014 Endurance Summit where we discussed his research regarding specialized training for the brain that translates into athletic endurance performance.

Dr. Marcora has developed a protocol he terms “Brain Endurance Training”- the platform for which can be found at http://www.brainendurancetraining.com (future release- free training). Sign up to get free access to brain endurance training as soon as it is released.
